Designed and performed qualitative research on informal caregiving with patients and providers at Partner’s Revere Healthcare Center

·  International Association of Firefighters (IAFF). Served as occupational physician for health and safety department of union organization, helping members with health-related concerns. This included: assisting with medical assessment surrounding presumptive legislation, authoring science documents relevant to occupational disease, and addressing specific work-related health concerns of members via history-taking and correspondence.

·  Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH), Division of Environmental Health. Assisted with all aspects of division, including work on inter-state syndromic surveillance collaboration and legislative activity in Annapolis. Authored position papers on bills under consideration. Additionally, assisted office of preparedness and response (OP&R) with nuclear incident planning, including authoring potassium iodide protocol and participating in statewide dress rehearsal for drill.

·  Babson College, School of Business (supported by a Verizon innovation grant). Investigated water transparency and waste bio-digestion with faculty, entrepreneurs with experience in wastewater and bio-digestion, and other preventive medicine physicians. Additionally, collaborated with Global Surgery initiative on outcomes research in International context.

·  Public Citizen (Health Research Group). Called on 20 hospitals to sever relationship with company promoting unnecessary screening programs for their patients, successfully severing many of the relationships. Conducted extensive research regarding best practices surrounding relevant testing.

                        Additional activities and responsibilities included:
